February in Beaver Dam. Someone is standing on a twelve-year-old deck with soft boards, deciding whether this is the year. He goes inside and searches. He finds a gallery with eight photos and no prices, no town, nothing about composite. He bookmarks it, forgets it, and in April a guy with a truck and a yard sign gets the job.
A competitor's site shows up first in Beaver Dam searches. Yours does not. The why is structural, not a copy tweak.
Homeowners start looking in winter and buy in spring; nothing on the site catches the early search.
Composite versus wood is the entire conversation and the site makes the customer ask.
Your best proof is the photos of what you built, and they are buried in a gallery nobody reaches.
Pergolas and screened porches are separate searches and separate money, treated as one line item.
Most websites are 5-page brochures. Yours becomes a matrix: every service you sell, in every town you cover, on its own page that ranks for the search that matches it. The page count compounds. The ranking compounds. So does the lead flow.
Same approach, three different home-service industries. These numbers come from the live sites running today.
Service-by-town matrix built around the franchisee's dealer network. Currently the highest-ranking AAC franchisee in their territory.
Replaced a slow WordPress site with 99 legacy URL redirects preserved so the existing search rankings carried over instead of dying in 404s.
Most deck builders we talk to have already been pitched by a marketing agency with a glossy deck. Here is what we do differently and why it costs less.
Same February, next year. He searches deck builders in his town and gets your page for his town, with a composite build you did two streets over, what it ran, and how long it took. He fills the form out in February. You book April in February, and your spring is full before anyone else has started answering the phone.
Month 1Site live with a page for every structure in every town you serve.
Month 2Winter research traffic landing months before the buying window.
Month 4Spring calendar filling from inbound rather than referrals alone.
Month 6Pergola and porch work arriving on its own pages.
Month to month · Bring your domain · We build, host and own the site · Walk away whenever
For reference A full year of this is less than what most contractor-marketing agencies charge for the discovery deck.
Same price whether your site has 20 pages or 200. Hosting, updates, Google Business Profile, and the lead form all included. Nothing extra to bolt on, nothing metered, no surprise invoice when traffic grows.
What is in the $497: design, build, hosting, lead form, Google Business Profile management, monthly content updates, and the owner who built your site picking up the phone when you call. No middlemen, no per-page upcharges, no offshore subcontracting.
How it works: you are subscribing to the website, not buying it. We build it, host it, and keep adding to it every month, and it stays ours — that is why nothing is due up front and nothing ties you in. Your domain is yours and so is every lead it brings you. Cancel and the site comes down, and we point your domain wherever you say.
Built by Wayne Mortenson, Founder. Wisconsin.

The owner. One studio in Wisconsin. No middlemen, no overseas teams, no offshore subcontracting. We work with US companies only. Beaver Dam is one of 110 Wisconsin towns we cover, plus markets across the Upper Midwest.
No. We build deck builder websites for deck builders across Wisconsin including other Wisconsin towns. Every deck builder client we work with gets a page for every town they serve, not just the one they are based in.
You keep your domain and every lead the site captured. The website itself stays ours - it is a service we build, host, and run, not a file we hand over - so we take it offline and point your domain wherever you want. No exit fee. No fine print. Same policy for Beaver Dam clients as anywhere else.
Nobody honest will promise you a Google ranking, and we will not either. What we promise is the work: a site built right, set up for local search from day one, with a real page for deck builder website design in Beaver Dam so you actually have a shot at ranking. That is more than most of your competitors have.
Beaver Dam is the largest city in Dodge County and a service-business hub for the area between Madison and Milwaukee. Demand spans the city, the lake-area homes, and the surrounding rural townships.
Beaver Dam has no National Register historic district - eight individual listings and nothing more - so no board reviews what you do to a house here. The listings are mostly industrial leftovers: the Weyenberg Shoe Factory, the 1900 Milwaukee Road passenger depot, and Hotel Rogers, five stories put up in 1927-28 by the president of the stove works to lodge his traveling salesmen and now an apartment building. The one that came back is the Paramount Knitting Company Mill on Madison Street, built in 1881 as a cotton mill, shut by a strike in 1934, bought by the city and leased to Weyenberg Shoe for $100 a year on the condition it kept people working, and reopened in 2012 as 34 lofts in an $8.4 million rehab. Everything else is unprotected working stock, so the trade here is replacement - roofs, siding, windows, drainage, foundations - not period restoration.
The old money was stoves: the Malleable Iron Range Company moved here from St. Louis in July 1901, built Monarch ranges, peaked near 1,200 workers in the mid-1950s, and went bankrupt in March 1985. The current money is generators and cream cheese. Generac opened its largest US factory here in July 2025, 345,000 square feet building commercial and industrial units, with about 200 people hired by that October and roughly 60 openings still posted, and Kraft Heinz has run the plant at Mill and Center since 1928, turning out about five million pounds of cream cheese a week including the Philadelphia Original brick. The hospital is Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam, formed in 1972 as the first merger of a Catholic and a Lutheran hospital in Wisconsin and acquired by Marshfield Clinic Health System on May 1, 2019 - a payroll of shift work and hospital salaries, which is a buyer who wants a firm number and a start date, not a design consultation.
The lake is man-made and shallow. The first dam went in on the Beaver Dam River in 1841 for mill power, and what it eventually backed up is 6,718 acres with 41 miles of shoreline and 21 islands - the 16th largest lake in Wisconsin, averaging five feet deep and seven at its maximum. That shallow impoundment sits in one of the largest drumlin fields in the world, which means glacial till, high water, and Wisconsin code (SPS 321.16) putting footings below frost penetration or at least 48 inches down, whichever is deeper. Add 63.5 inches of snow a year since 1996 and a record low of 36 below, and the exterior work that fails here fails at the ground line and the roof edge: frost heave under stoops and decks, ice dams, and water with nowhere to go.
The page you are reading is one of 21 service pages built for Beaver Dam alone. Each one targets the specific search a buyer in this market actually types. That is the matrix at work, scaled to a single city.
