A hail storm just rolled through Ashland. Homeowners are looking at the ceiling and Googling 'roof inspection Ashland' before the rain has stopped. Whoever shows up first wins the inspection, then the insurance claim, then the full re-roof. Right now that company is an out-of-state storm chaser. Your truck is already in the neighborhood and your site is on page two.
A competitor's site shows up first in Ashland searches. Yours does not. The why is structural, not a copy tweak.
Storm chasers from three states away outrank you for your own town.
Insurance-claim work is half your revenue but your site barely mentions it.
Material types (asphalt vs metal vs flat) are buried on one services page.
Lead forms go to a generic inbox and nobody follows up for two days.
Most websites are 5-page brochures. Yours becomes a matrix: every service you sell, in every town you cover, on its own page that ranks for the search that matches it. The page count compounds. The ranking compounds. So does the lead flow.
Same approach, three different home-service industries. These numbers come from the live sites running today.
Service-by-town matrix built around the franchisee's dealer network. Currently the highest-ranking AAC franchisee in their territory.
Replaced a slow WordPress site with 99 legacy URL redirects preserved so the existing search rankings carried over instead of dying in 404s.
Most roofing companies we talk to have already been pitched by a marketing agency with a glossy deck. Here is what we do differently and why it costs less.
By next storm season, you are the Ashland roofer that homeowners find before the first claim is filed. Storm-damage, full re-roof, repairs, and gutters: each is a page that pulls leads from the search that matches it. The customer comes in pre-educated about your warranty and the price range so the inspection meeting closes faster, with less pressure.
Week 1Material-and-town matrix approved, plus storm-response pages per service area.
Week 2Site live with storm-damage page front and center. SMS lead routing wired to your phone.
Month 3Ranking for storm-damage and insurance-claim searches in Ashland.
Month 6Inspection appointments booked through the site, not just referrals.
Month to month · Bring your domain · We build, host and own the site · Walk away whenever
For reference A full year of this is less than what most contractor-marketing agencies charge for the discovery deck.
Same price whether your site has 20 pages or 200. Hosting, updates, Google Business Profile, and the lead form all included. Nothing extra to bolt on, nothing metered, no surprise invoice when traffic grows.
What is in the $497: design, build, hosting, lead form, Google Business Profile management, monthly content updates, and the owner who built your site picking up the phone when you call. No middlemen, no per-page upcharges, no offshore subcontracting.
How it works: you are subscribing to the website, not buying it. We build it, host it, and keep adding to it every month, and it stays ours — that is why nothing is due up front and nothing ties you in. Your domain is yours and so is every lead it brings you. Cancel and the site comes down, and we point your domain wherever you say.
Built by Wayne Mortenson, Founder. Wisconsin.

Usually one to two weeks from our first call. The last two sites we launched went live in 10 days and 6 days. Your Ashland site can be ranking the same week.
The owner. One studio in Wisconsin. No middlemen, no overseas teams, no offshore subcontracting. We work with US companies only. Ashland is one of 110 Wisconsin towns we cover, plus markets across the Upper Midwest.
No. We build roofing websites for roofing companies across Wisconsin including and Superior. Every roofing company client we work with gets a page for every town they serve, not just the one they are based in.
You keep your domain and every lead the site captured. The website itself stays ours - it is a service we build, host, and run, not a file we hand over - so we take it offline and point your domain wherever you want. No exit fee. No fine print. Same policy for Ashland clients as anywhere else.
Nobody honest will promise you a Google ranking, and we will not either. What we promise is the work: a site built right, set up for local search from day one, with a real page for roofing website design in Ashland so you actually have a shot at ranking. That is more than most of your competitors have.
Ashland sits on Lake Superior and serves as the service hub for northern Wisconsin. The tourism-driven seasonal demand and the year-round residential base keep trades steady.
Ashland carries two National Register districts, and both are working fabric rather than museum pieces: the West Second Street commercial district downtown, listed in 1984, whose brick, brownstone and clapboard blocks went up between 1884 and 1937, and the Chapple and MacArthur Avenues residential district, listed in 2014, with 61 contributing properties, three quarters of them already standing by 1905. The city peaked at 13,074 people in 1900 and counted 7,908 in the 2020 census, which means the housing was built for a city far bigger than the one living in it now. What that generates is Queen Anne, Stick, Shingle and Foursquare houses well past a century old, with original masonry, steep roofs and wood windows, owned by people in a market that does not support knocking one down and starting over. That is repair, restore and re-roof work, not new construction.
Northland College closed at the end of the spring 2025 semester after 133 years, taking roughly 150 jobs and about 250 students out of a city of under 8,000 and leaving a 130-acre campus of 19 buildings behind. What anchors the payroll now is C.G. Bretting Manufacturing, family-owned in Ashland since 1890 and into its fifth generation, building paper converting equipment across more than 280,000 square feet with over 400 employees, alongside Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center, a 25-bed critical-access hospital that stayed independent and locally governed when it rebranded from Memorial Medical Center in 2023, plus an Essentia Health clinic next door to it. That is a buyer base of machinists and nurses - year-round wage earners who own the old houses and pay for work out of income, not a second-home crowd.
The old money left in stages. Brownstone started shipping out of the local quarries in 1870 and ended up in Chicago facades, the sawmills came and went, and the Soo Line ore dock - concrete, 80 feet tall, extended to roughly 1,800 feet in 1925 - took its last ore in 1965 and had its superstructure cut down in 2013. The city owns the base now and is rebuilding it as public waterfront on Chequamegon Bay, which is the honest summary of the new economy: the view is the asset. For a contractor that means Lake Superior sets the calendar - freeze-thaw that finds every detail that was not flashed right, lake-effect snow coming in off the bay, and a season short enough that a tear-off or a coating quoted in October is quoted for next spring.
The page you are reading is one of 21 service pages built for Ashland alone. Each one targets the specific search a buyer in this market actually types. That is the matrix at work, scaled to a single city.
Tell us about your business. We get back the same business day. No sales deck, no pressure. The owner who builds your site is the one who answers the phone.
