It is March in Wausau and the lawn is half-thawed. The homeowner is on her phone Googling 'lawn care Wausau' before the snow is gone, because she does not want to be a month late on signup like last year. Whoever has a real service-and-town page closes the season. The rest of you scramble for what is left in May.
A competitor's site shows up first in Wausau searches. Yours does not. The why is structural, not a copy tweak.
Spring rush brings 100 calls in two weeks then nothing books for July.
Your hardscape portfolio is your best work, but the site buries it on one services page.
Snow contracts get signed in October, but you have no online way to capture inquiries.
Three other landscapers in town have nicer websites than you.
Most websites are 5-page brochures. Yours becomes a matrix: every service you sell, in every town you cover, on its own page that ranks for the search that matches it. The page count compounds. The ranking compounds. So does the lead flow.
Same approach, three different home-service industries. These numbers come from the live sites running today.
Service-by-town matrix built around the franchisee's dealer network. Currently the highest-ranking AAC franchisee in their territory.
Replaced a slow WordPress site with 99 legacy URL redirects preserved so the existing search rankings carried over instead of dying in 404s.
By next spring, your seasonal signup is filled by March 1, not by July 4. Mowing, fertilization, weed control, landscape design, hardscaping, and snow removal: each pulls leads from its own search in every town. The customer signed up months before the first cut because your site spoke to her in February when she was actually shopping.
Week 1Service-and-season matrix approved.
Week 2Site live with online signup form and seasonal landing pages.
Month 3Ranking for spring-signup and seasonal-service searches across Wausau.
Month 6Whole season booked weeks before the work starts.
Month to month · Bring your domain · We build, host and own the site · Walk away whenever
For reference A full year of this is less than what most contractor-marketing agencies charge for the discovery deck.
Same price whether your site has 20 pages or 200. Hosting, updates, Google Business Profile, and the lead form all included. Nothing extra to bolt on, nothing metered, no surprise invoice when traffic grows.
What is in the $497: design, build, hosting, lead form, Google Business Profile management, monthly content updates, and the owner who built your site picking up the phone when you call. No middlemen, no per-page upcharges, no offshore subcontracting.
How it works: you are subscribing to the website, not buying it. We build it, host it, and keep adding to it every month, and it stays ours — that is why nothing is due up front and nothing ties you in. Your domain is yours and so is every lead it brings you. Cancel and the site comes down, and we point your domain wherever you say.
Built by Wayne Mortenson, Founder. Wisconsin.
Guarantee 30 days to walk away. Full refund, no friction, no exit interview. If the matrix is not bringing leads, it is on us.
Book a 30-minute call. We pull up your current site, your competitor's site, and Google Search results in Wausau side by side. You leave the call knowing what is costing you leads and what fixing it would look like. No deck, no upsell.
Flat $497 a month. No setup fee. No contract. Cancel any time. That covers the custom website, hosting, security, contact form, and monthly copy and search updates. Domain registration is included if you do not own one yet.
Usually one to two weeks from our first call. The last two sites we launched went live in 10 days and 6 days. Your Wausau site can be ranking the same week.
The owner. One studio in Wisconsin. No middlemen, no overseas teams, no offshore subcontracting. We work with US companies only. Wausau is one of 110 Wisconsin towns we cover, plus markets across the Upper Midwest.
No. We build landscaping websites for landscaping companies across Wisconsin including other Wisconsin towns. Every landscaping company client we work with gets a page for every town they serve, not just the one they are based in.
You keep your domain and every lead the site captured. The website itself stays ours - it is a service we build, host, and run, not a file we hand over - so we take it offline and point your domain wherever you want. No exit fee. No fine print. Same policy for Wausau clients as anywhere else.
Nobody honest will promise you a Google ranking, and we will not either. What we promise is the work: a site built right, set up for local search from day one, with a real page for landscaping website design in Wausau so you actually have a shot at ranking. That is more than most of your competitors have.
Wausau is the service-business hub of north-central Wisconsin. Demand pulls in from a wide rural service area, and the companies that rank for the surrounding towns capture most of it.
Wausau has two National Register districts and both are residential: Andrew Warren, listed in 1984, runs 62 buildings over ten blocks built between 1868 and 1934, and East Hill Residential, listed in 2004, adds roughly 165 contributing properties built from 1883 to 1945. The lumber barons built there - Yawkey, Winton, Stewart - and hired Prairie School architect George W. Maher along with Alexander Eschweiler, so the East Side is genuine protected fabric where restoration and matching work still get asked for. Everything else is postwar: the median Wausau home was finished in 1963, and only about a quarter of the stock predates 1940. That is two markets in one city, and both sit under a state dwelling code that puts footings at least 48 inches below grade.
Aspirus Health anchors the economy and is headquartered here, a nonprofit community-directed system running 18 hospitals and 130 outpatient locations with nearly 14,000 team members, including 1,300 employed physicians and advanced practice clinicians. The flagship, Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Pine Ridge Boulevard, is licensed for 325 beds and holds Level II trauma verification, so it pulls patients and staff from well beyond Marathon County. Manufacturing holds up the other side: Greenheck opened in 1947 as a sheet metal shop in Schofield, minutes south, and grew into a global air movement and control manufacturer still headquartered there, while Marathon Electric still builds motors in Wausau. That mix produces a salaried, stay-put buyer, and about 58 percent of Wausau households own the home they live in.
The old money was pine. Walter McIndoe renamed the settlement Wausau in 1850, sawmill owner Andrew Warren bought the land that became the East Side in 1853, and when the timber thinned the same families moved into paper and into door and window manufacturing. They also started an industry that outlived the trees: the Wausau Group organized Employers Mutual Liability Insurance, and on September 1, 1911 it wrote the first policy under Wisconsin's new workers compensation law to Wausau Sulfite Fibre, recognized as the first valid workers comp policy in the country. The current money is ginseng: Marathon County grows about 95 percent of Wisconsin's crop and Wisconsin grows nearly all of the nation's, a trade that started when four Fromm brothers transplanted 100 wild plants in Hamburg township northwest of town in 1904, and the Ginseng Board of Wisconsin still sits in Wausau.
The page you are reading is one of 21 service pages built for Wausau alone. Each one targets the specific search a buyer in this market actually types. That is the matrix at work, scaled to a single city.
Tell us about your business. We get back the same business day. No sales deck, no pressure. The owner who builds your site is the one who answers the phone.
