The problem
Showing up in the towns around Baldwin
Say you pour concrete out of Baldwin. Someone in Hudson, 20 miles west on I-94, searches for a concrete driveway and gets a list of names. If your site only talks about Baldwin, you're not on it. Google gives Hudson its own list, and it fills that list with businesses that say they work in Hudson.
Google gives every town its own list. Someone in Hudson is looking at that list right now, and if you're not on it they're calling somebody else. Same in every other town you drive to.

The town
Local SEO in Baldwin, WI
Local SEO means showing up when someone in one particular town searches for your work. It starts with a page that's about the town.
Baldwin started in 1871 as Clarksville, a stop on the Western Wisconsin Railroad, and was renamed for D. A. Baldwin, the man behind the line. The Dutch families who settled the farms around it are still the village's story: the windmill in Windmill Park went up in 1987, built by about 30 local volunteers and paid for one foundation stone at a time, and Windmill Days is the village festival. Western Wisconsin Health opened its hospital and clinic just off I-94 in 2016, 15 beds and 107,000 square feet, and added seven more beds in 2024.
The village has grown with the interstate: 2,667 people in 2000, 3,957 in 2010, 4,291 in 2020, in the county that was Wisconsin's fastest-growing between 2000 and 2010. The median home in Baldwin was built in 1994, more than half the housing has gone up since 1990, and about 620 units, close to 40 percent of the village, have gone up since 2000, most of them before 2010. About 30 percent of the homes are rentals, and about 200 date from before 1940. I-94 puts Hudson and the Minnesota line 20 miles west and Menomonie and Eau Claire to the east, so a Baldwin crew works the whole interstate. Footings go at least 48 inches down under Wisconsin code, and the freeze and thaw is hard on driveways and slabs.

Every tradeQuestions
Questions people in Baldwin ask
- Do I need an office in Baldwin to show up in Baldwin?
- No. Google's business profile lets you list up to 20 service areas, and a page on your site for each town covers the rest. A crew based in Hammond, Woodville or Roberts shows up in Baldwin the same way, with a page about Baldwin.
- I work I-94 from Hudson to Menomonie. Can one site cover all of it?
- Yes. Hudson is 20 miles one way and Menomonie is 27 the other, and each gets its own page written for that town, on the same site, for the same $497 a month. So does Baldwin, and so do Hammond, Woodville, Roberts and every town in between.
- I already have a website. Can you make it show up in Baldwin?
- We replace it. Your web address stays the same, and the new site goes up in its place with a page for Baldwin and one for every other town you work in, River Falls, New Richmond and Hudson included.
- Do you handle my Google Business Profile?
- It stays yours. We line it up with the site, so someone in Baldwin who finds you on the map sees the same name, number and towns on your website, and the service areas on the profile match the town pages. When something on it needs changing, we help.
- How long until I show up in Hudson?
- A new page starts from zero, and it usually takes a few months to build up. Hudson has more than three times the people Baldwin does, so there's more on its list and it can take longer there. We don't promise a spot on Google. We build the page, tell Google about it, and keep it listed.
